How would you like to begin your experience learning about learning objects? Below are four different approaches based upon Kolb's Theory of Learning Styles. Each offers a different starting point that might suit the way you like to learn. Each has unique components within it.

If you like to engage in a game while you learn, you might like this

If you like explanation with examples, there are a number of activities that you could engage in. You might start with this overview of learning objects that asks you to reflect on key issues. As well, you may want to share your reflections in either the Discussion Board or our Learning Objects Weblog.

If you like to start with real world, concrete experience, this website, Making Learning Objects, shows you how a learning object is built and shows you some of the tools used to do so.

Learning Objects: From Concept to Design is a Flash application that takes a highly conceptual approach in the investigation of learning objects and theories around design. There is also an on-line script of this application available.
